AB de Villiers To Miss Australia Test & ODI Series

ab de villiersSouth Africa’s recent performances in all forms of the game is not that impressive and things are not looking good either for the upcoming important series against Australia. AB de Villiers is injured and he failed the fitness test to make it to the team. It’s a massive below for team specially just before the Australia series.

AB de Villiers was going to captain the side against Australia in the 5 match ODI series but he failed the fitness test and will not be part of the side. The super star South African batsman is suffering with an elbow injury which also kept him out against the New Zealand in recently concluded test series.

AB de Villiers was also named in the squad for the game against Ireland, but due to injury he was granted additional days to recover for the Australia series. Cricket South Africa has also confirmed the report that he will miss the series as well as the test series in Australia which is going to start on 3rd November in Perth.

AB de Villiers will be undergoing an elbow surgery in coming week to recover the left elbow that has been causing him pain for some time now. The injury seems to be severe in nature because it failed to respond to treatment and rehabilitation.

In absence of AB, Faf du Plessis will captain the side and for replacement Rilee Rossouw is recalled and he will be a part of the 5 one day matches series against the Aussies.
